Success Stories

Jamila, age 29

Betty helped me learn the very basics of swimming. Her patience and natural nurturing style helped me overcome a lifelong fear of even entering the pool. I have had a blast with her.

MJ, age 9

I really liked when  Betty taught me to swim. It was really fun. She made the things that we did fun. She kept it simple and safe because I knew she was there to help me. She kept it easy and then made it harder and harder until I got better.

Linda, age 70

Never too late to take up a new skill ... especially with Betty's patient step-by-step guidance.  We focus during our one-on-one sessions on the proper stroke and kick movements to make my glide through the water more productive & fluid.  Exercise is fun again.

Roger O,  age 50

Imagine waking up one day after turning 50 and realizing you want to learn to swim! Yeah, after avoiding water for about 4 decades, I decided that not only did I want to get over lingering fears, but actually learn how to swim so I can enjoy the water again. I had no idea where to begin, but as fate would have it - I was connected with Betty through a mutual acquaintance.

From the very beginning, Betty showed that she was interested in my goals and ensuring that I felt safe and comfortable with the process. One step at a time, things fell into place and here I am. I really appreciate her one to one teaching style. After just a few lessons, I am realizing that I can be safe and comfortable in a pool and am slowly figuring out the right way to move my body in the water so that swimming becomes something fun, joyful, and easy rather than something so seemingly impossible or fearful.

Not only is this experience helping me remember the good "water memories" I have from earlier times, it's reminding me that the world is full of awesome watery places I am now free to explore!

I can confidently recommend Betty's swimming lessons to anyone regardless of your comfort level with water or goals. She's a knowledgeable and grounded instructor with a clear passion for what she does. Very grateful there are people like Betty doing their thing in this world!
